A town clean up was held in Artesian on Sunday, May 18th. The city park and ballpark received some much needed attention. The concession stand was painted and old fencing was removed. Many properties were cleaned and four tractors hauled out dead trees. The swimming pool was painted and the bath house received fresh paint. It was a great day!

A “Thank You” submitted to the Sanborn Weekly Journal by Bernice Seitz and Dorothy Weinberger reads as follows:
“We would like to thank members of the Artesian City Council, Kurt Effling, Sue Richard, and Jon Scott and anyone and everyone that helped with the clean up of our town. A number of vacant houses were burned, the foundation buried and the land leveled off, brush and tree limbs were burned.”
