April Town Board Meeting–Economic Development
Saturday, March 29th, 2008David Lambert, Mitchell SD, MADC is working as a regional coordinator with Brian Hisel to explore economic opportunities for the immediate outlying communities around Mitchell. He will be present updated current information on his work. MADC would like a small 3-year financial commitment from each community to split the costs of the resources the Mitchell Chamber of Congress and Development Corporation are making available for each towns use. They are offering office and equipment use as well as help from their staff as needed.
This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for our towns to have the expertise of an experienced economic developer available. Please attend this meeting or call the town board members to give your support.

Poverty Reduction
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008What partnerships has your community made to support its work on poverty reduction?
Goal Three-Objective One of Sanborn Central’s Strategic Plan states that the communities will support families and individuals in need of assistance.
The Good Stuff Committee has been working to reduce the level of poverty in our communities by partnering with social services and other agencies to determine the needs of families and individuals in Sanborn County.
The Good Stuff Committee also partnered with Thrivent Financial of Sanborn County to hold a benefit for an individual who needed assistance with medical expenses.
If you are aware of a family or individual who is in need of assistance contact Margo Edwards at 495-4366.
